The Victor Leeson Perpetual Trophy
The Victor Leeson Perpetual Trophy was presented to Cork International Choral Festival by the Guinness Choir on the occasion of the Choir's 50th Anniversary in 2001. The trophy was presented in memory of Victor Leeson, the Choir's founder and, for thirty-three years, its conductor.
The trophy is presented to Ireland's Choir of the Year, and the current holders (2016) are Voci Nuove, Cork, conductor Lynsey Callaghan, who also took the title in 2015.
The trophy was made by the sculptor Eamonn O'Doherty, who also made the iconic Golden Tree sculpture at the Central Bank Plaza.
