Christmas Concert

What:
Christmas Concert
Where:
St Patrick's Cathedral
When:
Sunday 4th December 2016

Following on from the previous year's success, the Choir decided to hold once again an early evening concert in St Patrick's Cathedral on the 4th of December, 2016.

The Choir invited the public to take the weight off their tired Christmas shopping feet - and to join them for a programme of classical choral music and carols, with a special guest appearance by renowned Irish folk singer-songwriter, Paul Brady!

Directed by David Milne and accompanied by organist David Leigh, the concert featured the Choral Suite of The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins. The Choir also performed three separate short arrangements of the sacred work O Magnum Mysterium, by Victoria, Gabrieli and Lauridsen, along with traditional Christmas Carols (with audience participation).

The collaboration of David Milne and Paul Brady proved that two genres of music can come together beautifully to produce an uplifting night of festive cheer.
